Choosing home exterior paint colors
We’re the roof over your head and the floor under your feet. The walls that protect you from the thunderous storms and the heat of the midday sun, yet despite ALL that we do for you, we don’t ask for much. We just want to be cared for, well maintained and enjoyed. I'm the Speaker of the House, here with some advise for you on choosing colors for us. We prefer to be dressed and not left bare. We want to look good. We aren’t picky about what colors you choose for us, but we like to be admired and appreciated for our beauty, not balked at and looked down upon by those living nearby. Let’s talk color clues. If you’re not sure what exterior colors we want to be painted, look around at our friends, our neighbors, your neighbors. What colors are they? If they are painted in more traditional colors, we will probably want to be painted similarly. We don’t want to stick out like a sore thumb in the neighborhood. Stay consistent, but give us an accent color that makes us, well - you know, something that makes us pop. Take us shopping, let’s go to the color mall – Sherwin Williams! They have a great selection of colors that look great. Of course, you must also be aware of the fact that we like manicures and pedicures too, just like you! Our shrubs should be pruned and groomed and our lawns should be cut and edged regularly. Flower beds are like accessories for us, the colors of the flowers should complement our color. We like variety, so mix it up a bit and don't be afraid. All of these things keep us happy and remember; when you keep us happy, YOU have a happy home.
